I love to decorate for the holidays, for different seasons, with different themes or just in general!
To me, the month of March is the beginning of all things Spring! The color green can reflect many things but one thing it does it to remind us all of is new life in the plant and garden world.
To jazz it up for the springtime I decided to Mod Podge this beautiful botanical print collage paper that I previously had in my crafting supplies drawer. The brand is Idea-ology and I found mine on Amazon but I believe Hobby Lobby carries that brand of craft supplies as well.
You can find cute mini topiaries at your local Wal-Mart, Target or craft stores like Hobby Lobby and Michaels. I wanted to make it look a little larger than it actually was so I decided to put it in a larger pot. I found this paper mache’ flower pot at Hobby Lobby for just a few dollars. (They have sales in different departments each week so I got my paper mache’ pot at 50% off)
I then added some dollar store moss that I also previously had on hand (I got this at the Dollar Tree) and that’s it, Voila’! A beautiful decorative piece that adds life and color to your home!
It’s very inexpensive to make and the best part? You can tell everyone that you made it yourself! (Although another of MY favorite part of this DIY is that you don’t have to worry about watering it!)
There are so many options and ideas to create to fit your own personality style and home décor. You could get a paper mache’ cactus and Mod Podge some southwest themed paper to it or find a faux lavender plant and use a beautiful lavender colored napkin to Mod Podge to a pot or how about a blue ocean or nautical themed design on your flower pot with a faux tropical plant and instead of moss use some sand or seashells to arrange around the top of the pot.
What are some of your favorite themes, hobbies, interests? If you have a favorite Mod Podge item that you’ve crafted, I’d love to hear about it!
